Aspera Plug-in

Use Aspera File Transfer from within FlashNet to manage guaranteed delivery to the cloud and to remote locations.

Aspera is a market-leading software solution that can be used for file transfer to and from multiple locations, using Aspera FASP technology for performance and reliability.

SGL has partnered with Aspera to handle the file transfer process from Flashnet to public and private cloud locations and remote storage destinations, all through the Aspera API.

A Wider Range of Archiving Options

  • Use cloud storage from within FlashNet as simply another storage device
  • Build cloud and remote destinations into your archiving rules
  • Use AWS S3 to move content to another region within your infrastructure
  • Use Glacier via AWS rules for deep storage or as a DR option
  • Store content in remote locations without using a WAN

Aspera at a Glance

  • Use cloud storage from within FlashNet as simply another storage device
  • Build cloud and remote destinations into your archiving rules
  • Use AWS S3 to move content to another region within your infrastructure
  • Use Glacier via AWS rules for deep storage or as a DR option

Simple to Set Up

Simply select Aspera as a storage destination, specify the Asperasoft Server, User Name, relevant Authentication Type and Password, and the Top Level Folder.

  • Set up as many Aspera destinations as you need
  • Test the Aspera connection right within the setup screen

Using Aspera's Console

  • The Aspera console can be used to view your storage areas after content has been archived
  • FlashNet archives content in its original format when using Aspera, so that if desired, the content can be accessed directly within the console rather than via FlashNet
  • NOTE: moving, renaming or deleting content from within the console is not recommended as it will result in inconsistencies that may cause subsequent FlashNet workflow errors
