At IBC 2010 on stand 8.A25a SGL will demonstrate the cost and workflow benefits that can be achieved using its Open System solutions. The company will highlight its support for the latest version of Apple's Final Cut Server (FCS), and will also demonstrate its client-based web tool FlashBrowse II. As the leading broadcast archive provider, SGL is supporting LTO-5, the latest data tape generation from the LTO Program, capable of holding 70 hours of material at 50Mbs. SGL's stand 8.A25a will also be the only place at IBC2010 to see a full Avid Interplay Archive system, demonstrated by Avid's own personnel.
Worldwide debut: Advanced updates to Final Cut Server (FCS) interface: At IBC 2010 SGL is unveiling advanced updates to its Final Cut Server (FCS) integration. SGL FlashNet's advanced features allow users to copy and move content to the archive from online storage directly from the FCS UI (and vice versa). Organisations can now implement backup and archive of their FCS assets, projects and productions, keeping content fully protected and quickly available regardless of where it is in its life cycle. The SGL FlashNet FCS integration maintains all FCS metadata and project/production schedules throughout the backup, archive and restore processes. FlashNet's Open System means that the solution is easily expandable, and SGL's clustered architecture provides unrivalled levels of resilience and reliability.
European debut: Support for LTO5: LTO5 is the latest generation of the LTO Program's Ultrium LTO tape project. SGL will be archiving and restoring at IBC2010 using LTO5 technology, highlighting SGL's continued commitment to support for the very latest media technology. A single LTO5 cartridge can store approximately 28 hours of 120Mbs HD material with transfer rates up to 140MBs, and drives are backwards compatible with LTO generation 3 and 4 technology (read/write generation 4, generation 3 read only).
Avid Interplay 2.1: Continuing its close association with Avid Technology, the SGL booth will feature an end-to-end Avid Interplay system, including the only demonstration of Avid's Interplay Archive solution - powered by SGL and qualified, supported and distributed by Avid. SGL FlashNet is still the only third-party archive management software that has been through the full Avid development and QA cycle and is available directly from Avid worldwide. Avid personnel will be demonstrating Interplay Archive on the SGL stand, so contact marketing@sgluk.com to book an appointment now.
