LTFS

At IBC2011 SGL will be showing SGL FlashNet working with LTFS, the Linear Tape File System from the LTO Program. You'll be able to see real-world workflows, demonstrating how LTFS enables instant content portability between disparate systems, without wrapping or having to edit the content in any way. Simply take a tape from an SGL FlashNet-controlled library and load it into an LTFS-capable drive on a different system, and the content is immediately accessible.

LTFS opens up a whole new array of workflow possibilities. Its self-describing nature, that includes meta-data along with the essence on the same tape, means that for the first time archive content can be freely moved between different systems or departments.

LTFS is IT-based technology, not just another broadcast standard, and it is available now; current SGL FlashNet users can migrate existing archives to LTFS simply and quickly, without loss of data access or incurring downtime.

LTFS is set to revolutionise broadcast archiving. Come and see how, on stand 7.J15a.

Avid Interplay

This year, SGL are in Hall 7, next to the Avid stand. Once again Avid demonstrators will be on our stand, demonstrating the end-to-end Avid Interplay system including Avid Interplay Archive, the only fully-integrated archive solution for Avid Interplay that is developed, tested and supported by Avid, powered by SGL FlashNet. Come and see why FlashNet is the archive management software of choice for Avid users.
