Las Vegas, NAB, Booth SU8508 - 20th April 2009 - Software Generation Ltd (SGL), a leading provider of content archive and storage management software for media and entertainment, has today announced the launch of its XML interface for FlashNet, providing vendors and broadcasters with a universal protocol for delivering data to the archive. This announcement further highlights SGL's open-system architecture philosophy.
The XML interface for FlashNet further expands the control functionality between third-party systems - such as media asset management and automation – and FlashNet by providing a flexible solution that can simply be adapted to suit the requirements of the customer.
Mickey Charles, President SGL Americas comments, "SGL has an open-system philosophy, which means broadcasters can build workflows and systems specifically tailored to their precise requirements. XML simplifies data delivery procedures, lightens bandwidth and thereby improves ROI."
FlashNet, SGL's flagship solution provides content storage and archive management software based around a clustered architecture that scales to fit any organisation, from the largest networks to the smallest call-letter station. FlashNet's high levels of redundancy and unrivalled data transfer capability fit seamlessly into any environment, regardless of existing architecture.
FlashNet has been installed in facilities worldwide. Recent successes include VERSUS, GAC, PBS, Big Ten Networks, WWE, WAGA and NBC in the US, HBO in Singapore, AMG in the Middle East, Sky Italy and GMTV in Europe - to name but a few.
